You may all have noticed that work is underway in earnest to revamp our Club Website, which will bring a host of new and exciting features; including a new and improved competition calendar, online gala payments, and kit ordering to name but a few.
The work is being undertaken by Chris Heppell our new Website Administrator, who’s a bit of a technical whizz by all accounts, so be prepared for some major improvements!
Please bear with us whilst we make these changes, it will be worth it we can promise! In the meantime, if anyone has any feedback on the revised design, or if there is anything which you would like us to include on the site, please email us at enquiries@chesterlestreetasc.co.uk.
Following Ruth Moralee’s recent resignation as Treasurer, we are delighted to announce that we have now appointed a successor.
Christine Gibson Lee has volunteered to take on the role with immediate effect. With a background in financial accounts & bookkeeping,we’re sure she will be a great asset to the team.
We are also pleased to confirm that Hayley Gray will be undertaking the role of Club Welfare Officer. Hayley brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held the position for several years in the past.
We would like to warmly welcome both to the team, and wish them the best of luck as they take up their posts.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank their predecessors Ruth and Jo once again, for their hard work and commitment to the roles during the last few years, and for the significant contribution they have made to the successful running of the club.
Last week saw the announcement of British & English Summer Championship qualifiers, and we are extremely proud to confirm that Chester-le-Street ASC has 5 individual qualifiers across 18 events!
This is another fantastic achievement for the club and our young athletes; and we continue to be impressed by the quality of performances delivered throughout the season and what our talented young swimmers have achieved.
A huge well done to all our qualifiers and as always we wish you all the very best of luck in your respective championships. We’re sure you’ll do yourselves and the club proud.

Congratulations to Daniel Butler on becoming our second National Qualifier of 2016.
Daniel has qualified for the ASA Open Water Nationals 2016, being held on July 24; qualifying with a time of 17:32:80 and 12th position on national rankings in the 1500m Freestyle event.
Hopefully this is isn’t the end of the announcements; as the national qualifying window closes on Monday 30 May 2016, so we wait with bated breath to see who has secured their places at this year’s British and ASA Summer National Championships.
