We are now able to confirm arrangements for the above event for those B2/B3 swimmers who have gallantly signed up!
We have arranged a raftbuilding session at the Tees Barrage Activity Centre, which will challenge the team working skills of our youngsters, as they battle it out to build the best ( seaworthy!) raft.
The session will last 2 hours starting at 10am. Please can we ask that all participants arrive 10/15 mins before the start time to get kitted out and briefed.
Swimmers will be put into teams on the day and we look forward to seeing how well they can all work together!
Information packs and consent forms will be distributed in the next week. Please could all consent forms be returned as soon as possible before 10 June 2016. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to participate if a consent form is not completed.
If anyone has any questions regarding the event, please speak to Lianne Pye. Similarly if anyone has not yet paid £5.00 please could you do so by Tuesday 3 May 2016.
We’re sure it will be a fun filled event and we can’t wait to see our “teams” in action!
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in helping to organise and run our Open Gala last weekend. I’m sure we all agree that it was a great success, thanks to the dedication and support of our team of volunteers, without whom the event could not have taken place.
Thanks also go to our officials and coaches for their hard work poolside, attending clubs for their support and congratulations to our swimmers for some fantastic performances in the water! Which is what it’s all about at the end of the day!
And not forgetting all those who supported our fundraising efforts, whether it was coordinating behind the scenes, manning the stalls, donning the baking aprons or donating prizes.. we couldn’t have done it without you and your efforts raised over £500.00 for the club. Teamworking at its best!
Special thanks go to the following local businesses & organisations for their support of the meet:
A huge well done to our little Junior Leaguers for another fantastic performance at Round 2 of the N & D Junior League competition.
The atmosphere was lifting as our youngsters battled it out to finish in an impressive 3rd place overall. A fabulous achievement from the Division one newbies, who showed they could not only hold their own with the big boys but could come out on top.
Finishing with a total point score of 170,just one point ahead of their nearest rivals Tynemouth (but one point was all it took!), they came home tired but happy. Although I’m not sure who looked the most exhausted the swimmers or the parents after all the screaming!
But as always its onwards and upwards as we look to the final round being held on 8 May 2016 at Billingham.
