Sports Research Project

The club has been approached by York St John University, we have been asked to support research focused on psychological factors influencing the motivation, performance and wellbeing of youth sport athletes. They are looking for volunteers aged between 12 and 18 years old to fill a short paper and pencil questionnaire which will take approximately 15 minutes.

We have organised a room on Tuesday 10th September from 6:15pm at Chester le street leisure centre before training begins. We would like invite all swimmers aged 12 -18 to attend. An information leaflet has been given to swimmers who are poolside tonight and these will be available on online for information.

Please feel free to email for any extra information if required.

The youngest member of Team GB says World Transplant Games are a chance to take on “whole entire world”

The World Transplant Games are coming to the North East this summer. Celebrated as the second chance of life, the Games demonstrate the success of transplant surgery and promote awareness of organ and tissue donation.

This year 2,237 athletes from 60 countries will be taking part in 15 sports across Tyneside and Wearside, including archery, athletics, tennis and even a virtual triathlon.

Phoebe Pace is Team GB’s youngest competitor.

This nine-year-old swimmer from Gateshead is rearing to compete in the pool against athletes from all over the world.

“Every single country you can think of it, it’s actually 63 countries”, she says. “So it’s basically 63 countries of this whole entire world that I’m competing against.”

Changes to the way we report squad fees on your monthly statement

We’re changing the way our systems report your squad fees as part of your monthly statement*.

Until now squad fees have simply been listed as a single item for all of your swimmers with just one amount. From September the fees for each swimmer will be listed as an individual item.

If you qualify for any discounts because you have three or more swimmers, this will now be shown as a credit on your statement making the discount you recieve clear.

There are no changes to the discounts offered to large families.

*Your monthly statement details the fees that make up your monthly direct debit payment.

You can now pay by card for gala entries

We’re very pleased to announce that you can now pay for your gala entries by credit or debit card.

To pay simply log into your club membership account and under the galas menu select pay for entries. You’ll be presented with a page where you can select which entries you would like to pay for – you can pay for any number of entries in one go, saving you time.

We accept all major card networks including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. If you have a supported device, you’ll also be able to use a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay which offer increased security and a much faster payment experience*.

We will save your card details** to help make future payments faster. When refunds are made for rejections, they will be paid straight back to the card you used for payment.

If you have any questions about paying by card, please contact support@chesterlestreetasc.co.uk.

* From 14 September 2019 new EU regulations will require additional authentication for some card payments. Services such as Apple Pay or Google Pay already support payment flows with a built-in layer of authentication (biometric or password).

** Details are tokenised so Chester-le-Street ASC will never see your card details. Details will not be saved for wallet transactions such as those using Apple Pay.

From September if you haven’t paid for a gala before the Gala Coordinator sends the entries to the gala host, your fees will be added to your monthly direct debit payment unless you have opted out.
