Congratulations Keiran!

Well done to one of our young volunteers Keiran Frame, on successfully passing his Level One Swimming Teachers qualification.

Congratulations from all of us at the club!

English Schools National Championships

A big well done to four of our swimmers who took part in the national school’s swimming championships at the Olympic pool in London earlier today.

Chester-le-Street’s James Davison, Ben Ward, Emily Doleman and Ella Hall were all selected to represent Park View’s Year 7/8 Boys’ & girls’ teams, in the national final held at the London Aquatics Centre.

With over 200 teams entered overall, Park View’s boys team delivered a fantastic performance in the medley team heats to qualify for the final; finishing in pole position out of the North East schools and an impressive 9th position overall, also taking 14th place in the Freestyle team.

The girls team likewise produced an impressive result, finishing in 23rd place overall.

I’m sure it was a fantastic experience for our young swimmers and a huge well done to all those who took part!

Rag Bag Fundraiser – January 2016

Further to our recent announcement regarding our new team kit and intention to fund competition hats and kit for our swimmers, we would like to give advance notice of a targeted fundraiser which we are running in January of next year to help fund this.

For those of you not familiar with the “Rag Bag” scheme, it is a recycling project used  by schools and community groups UK wide; to provide regular fundraising, whilst also helping the environment through textile recycling.

Its exceptionally easy to do, simply collect all your unwanted or outgrown (wearable) shoes & clothes, bag them up and we will collect and send to the Rag Bag organisation. The club will receive money for each KG of textiles collected – it couldn’t be easier!

So when you’re having a clear out after Christmas, bag it up and we’ll clear it for you, making money for our swimmers in the process!

Further information  will be published in the next few weeks.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Save the Date!…. Annual Club Presentation Evening

Date for your diary…..

Plans are underway for our annual presentation evening due to be held on Saturday 9 January 2016.

This year’s event will be held at Lumley Castle Hotel, full details to follow.

Tickets will be released for sale in the next few weeks at a cost of £10.00 per adult/ £8.00 concession to include evening buffet and entertainment, with complimentary tickets to all our swimmers free of charge.

For any parents and members new to the club, our annual presentation evening is an opportunity to recognise the success and achievements of our swimmers.  The awards from our Christmas Club gala are made at the event, along with some additional ‘special awards’ to recognise any outstanding achievements and progress demonstrated by our swimmers throughout the year.

So make sure you put the date in your diary and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Good Luck to our NER Championship Qualifiers!

Congratulations to the following swimmers on qualifying for the North East Region Short Course Championships 2015.

This year’s Age Group and Youth/Senior championships will be held alongside each other at Sunderland Aquatic Centre this weekend and we are proud to confirm that we have 22 swimmers competing in the event.

We wish all our swimmers the best of luck for the weekend, particularly our first time qualifiers.

Do us proud!

BOSSS Winter Invitational Meet – Impressive medal haul for Team CLS

Our swimmers yet again delivered some great personal best performances at last weekend’s invitational meet, which saw some of our youngest swimmers competing for the first time. With an overall medal haul of almost 80, Team CLS produced some impressive swims, notching up several 2016 county qualifying times, and numerous personal best times across the board.

As an invitational meet, our young 8 year olds were also able to compete alongside our more seasoned competitors, and despite their young age did fantastically well, definitely ones to watch in the future!

A big well done to all our swimmers!

See below for full results, with competition report to follow.
