It is with great regret that we must announce the resignation of Lianne Pye as Club Secretary. Lianne has worked incredibly hard behind the scenes for the past two years, dedicating countless hours to club matters. Lianne has driven many of the changes of recent times, modernising systems and communications and laying down firm foundations for the club’s future. Last weekend’s team building events are a perfect example of the enthusiasm and organisation she brought to the role.
Everyone at the club is extremely grateful for Lianne’s contribution, we thank her and we thank her family for their support as she dedicated so much time to the club away from the pool as well.
Additionally Christine Lee has decided not to continue as treasurer. Christine was good enough to step in when we we needed someone urgently and we’re very grateful for that but she does not wish to continue long term and will step down at the end of the month. Thanks for your help Christine.
An appeal for a replacements will follow shortly
It was definitely a weekend of thrills and spills for CLS swimmers; as our older members hit the Tees Barrage activity centre for a spot of white water rafting in the morning, before our younger swimmers braved the Air Trail high ropes course later the same day.
Judging by the screams and smiling faces, it was clear that great fun was had by all at the last of this year’s team building events.
Please note that the Sweet Shop this week will be held on Sunday afternoon instead of the usual Friday night, and will be open between 3pm and 5pm.
We are looking for a volunteer to help run the sweet shop, which will include purchasing and transporting stock every week.
If you are interested in volunteering for the role, please email Lianne at enquiries@chesterlestreetasc.co.uk.
Please note that there will be no afternoon training session on Sunday 18 September 2016 for A & B squads due to the Richmond Dales gala taking place this weekend.
Morning training will run as normal for those wishing to attend.
After finally collecting in all the sponsorship from our Swimalympics event held on 8 July 2016, we raised a fantastic £861.92 to be shared between The Hearing Fund UK, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Club funds.
An amazing effort and many thanks go to those who took part and contributed to raising this.
You may all remember Linda Carlo who visited the club during her mammoth 250 mile swimming challenge earlier in the year.
In August she finally completed her challenge, raising more than £7500 for the Hearing Fund. An impressive achievement on all counts.
We will be sending our contribution this week to add to her fundraising efforts.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust will also receive a cheque for £215.48 from the club.
As always we are extremely grateful for your support in this and all other fundraising ventures.
Well done and Thank You!
