Raffle Prizes

Please be aware that the open meet has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control.

The club are currently planning fundraising events to be held during our Open Meet, which is due to take place on the 29th & 30th April 2017.

To help with this, we will gratefully accept donations for our raffle at the Gala. If you are making a donation, please make it to Lisa Ward or Sarah Fairbairn by the 21st of April.

We’re doing this because we are constantly striving to raise our profile and generate funding for our swimmers to allow our talented young athletes the opportunity to excel in their chosen sport and support ongoing development at all levels, from our learn to swim programme, through to our performance training squads.

If you are able to help or require any more information, please do not hesitate to contact our fundraising team, Lisa Ward and Sarah Fairbairn via email at fundraising@chesterlestreetasc.co.uk.

Although we are sad to see Alex leave his story is a great example of what can be achieved at Chester-le-Street. Alex only joined Lorraine’s group a few months before his 14th birthday, his first experience of competitive swimming. Within 2 years he was competing at nationals and winning medals, next month he will take part in his first senior British Championships.

Head Coach Gary Renshaw said

“It was obvious he had talent but there was an awful lot of work to do on technique and stamina but by attending his sessions and listening to advice he has made great progress and we look forward to seeing him develop further.”

Alex’s dad Terry said

“It’s fair to say swimming has changed Alex’s life, we could never have imagined such an opportunity could arise when he joined Chester-le-Street ASC and we’ll always be grateful to everyone at the club – we know how much effort goes in behind the scenes to enable a swimmer to stand on the blocks.”

Alex will remain part of the club and return for training during holidays, before that he has the small matter of British Championships, NERs and British Summer Championships to tackle in the red cap. good luck Alex!
