All Parents Must Register for a Chester-le-Street ASC Account

We’ve recently been distributing information sheets with intructions on how to add your swimmers to your Chester-le-Street ASC account. If you have not yet signed up, you must do so as soon as possible.

Signing up and connecting your swimmers is important because;

  • It allows you to enter galas online, including our club Christmas Gala
  • Allows us to keep in touch with you by email about your squads
  • Enables you to update;
    • Your swimmer’s information
    • Your swimmer’s medical information
    • Your swimmer’s photography permissions
  • Allows you to see attendance as a percentage for each of your swimmers.
  • Add emergency contact details
  • Renew your membership online

We’re also currently working on new features which will enable you to

  • Pay squad, CrossFit and gala fees by Direct Debit

If you have any questions, please contact support@chesterlestreetasc.co.uk.

2023 Summer Shutdown

Not long now and summer holidays will be upon us, the club has always closed for 2 weeks to allow swimmers parents and coaches to relax, reflect on the previous swimming year and prepare the upcoming year, it also allows swimmers to sleep and eat without the restrictions of exercise.

This year mornings will continue into August, to make up for the many sessions squads 1 2 and 3 have had cancelled due to DCC decisions, normally we cancell throughout the holiday period.

The club will host a full shut after the Sunday session on August 14th and all sessions will recommence on Tuesday 29th August

Note: After a two-week hiatus from the pool, you will feel a renewed desire to get back in the water, you might notice a few subtle changes. Fortunately, recovery from the two-week break will not take long. The longer you stay away from the pool, the longer it will take to get back to the level of fitness you are accustomed to having.

First, after two weeks, you might find that you get a tired a little faster than usual the first few times you get in the pool. This might make you discouraged. You cannot let that happen. As a swimmer, you know that swimming is a mental and physical exercise. The only way to improve is to just keep swimming.

Even if this sounds discouraging, it can be important to take time off. There are moments when the body really does need to rest, this is why sports have off-seasons. If you are swimming four or more times per week, every week, without a break – you are due for one. The mind also needs a break from all of that work. If you have been swimming that often, your body will not fall apart after a two-week break. In fact, you might find that you swim better after the short holiday.

Summer Closures

There will be no weekday morning training sessions between 15 and 21 August.

There will then be a full closure after sessions on 21 August. Sessions resume Tuesday 30 August.

For the small pool, final session is Friday 19 August.

Castleview last session is 19 July. Return on Monday 5 September.
